97 - Domaine de Beaurenard cuvée Boisrenard rouge 2003
Loaded with rich black curant, blackberry, truffle, tar, mocha and bittersweet cocoa, this pumps out both fruit and terroir on the gripping finish. Immense in scale and depth, this is hard to resist now, but should be even more impressive when it drops its muscle to show more elegance. Best from 2008 through 2030.
94 – Domaine de Beaurenard 2003
Big wine, with a wall of structure around a core of black currant, blackberry and fig fruit. Plenty of exotic spice, dark chocolate, licorice and graphite notes skitter in the background, with a long finish that drips with fruit. Best from 2008 through 2025.
93 – Domaine de Beaurenard cuvée Boisrenard blanc 2003
Big, smoky praline aromas lead the way for this exotic white, which shows the heat of 2003 in its dried pineaple, mango, graham and glazed peach flavors. Has plenty of grip and minerality on the explosive finish. Could develop, but I prefe it now for its exuberance. Drink now through 2008.
90 – Domaine de Beaurenard blanc 2004
Lovely stone fruit aromas and flavors, with hints of almond and mineral as well. Long, stony finish shows balance and precision. Drink now through 2008.
86 - Domaine de Beaurenard 2003
Red cherry, floral and spice notes ride supple tannins to an elegant finish, where a hint of garrigue peeks in. Drink now.
